Giacomelli writes about not inhabiting the landscape. Here he tries to forget himself, to be a butterfly, the image of a mind that seeks an identity beyond the self. Giacomelli photographs with the idea of not clinging to anything. The inevitable saturation and repetition of signs, of forms, of light, can be overcome with the slowness of flight.

‘We live in a world in ruins and from this we set out to build. You ask yourself too many things, it only matters to free your mind and believe in what you do.’
